Feeling vulnerable, I awaited final comment on my growing edge from Faculty as a Master of Art’s candidate. Heard their response in person. “There’s only one thing to work on,” my faculty advisors told me as I approached my last semester in my Master’s program. “Show your humanness, each person must know your sensitivities, the soft underbelly!” Silently, I gasped. How will this be possible? What’s the value of being exposed? How does humanness help a leader reach her potential? I had little comprehension of the gifts I could receive being in my humanness.
